We created Askr & Embla with the intention to make the best baby products possible. Sleepod Kapok was our very first product, and it is still our personal favorite, as the materials are carefully selected to create the purest and most soothing sleeping environment for babies. Even though we introduced new materials we still work hard to source only ethically produced materials with minimum environmental impact. All our Sleepods are crafted to last and made right here, in America, by workers earning a living wage.

All our Sleepods, and materials used are tested by third party to be non-toxic and free from harmful flame-retardants and phthalate in accordance with CPSC regulations. None of our fibers has ever been in contact any harmful chemicals or flame retardants.

What tests are done and how can you guarantee safety?

Sleepod is tested to be free from Lead, Phthalates, and Flame Retardants. We also test for mechanical hazards in accordance with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).None of our fibers has ever been in contact any harmful chemicals or flame retardants. There is however no foolproof test that can guarantee that any product is 100% safe at all times. Make sure to follow all of our safety instructions and general co-sleeping instructions at all times and to never leave a baby or young child unsupervisedin the Sleepod. It is always a good idea to consult with your pediatrician or family Dr. to decide if co-sleeping is right for your family.

How do I safely use Sleepod for in bed co-sleeping & lounging?

Never co-sleep with your baby if you are smoking, have consumed alcohol/drugs or taken any medication that affects your sleep and/or ability to react. Always consult your pediatrician to decide if co-sleeping is appropriate for you and your family.

Place the Sleepod with the head end parallel to the head board of your bed, far from any edge. The Sleepod is preferably placed between the parents if the bed is shared by two adults.

Always place the baby on it's back and adjust the cord. Make sure the baby's head in the closed end of the Sleepod and that the feet are in the adjustable end of the Sleepod and that the cord is securely tucked underneath while in use.

Use a thin, breathable blanket to protect the Sleepod and reduce needed washing.

Note that a baby's sleeping area should always be free from heavy blankets, stuffed animals, pillows, and other items that can increase the risk of and or cause suffocation.

Don’t use the Sleepod in a water bed, sofa, inflatable bed or any soft surface, close to an edge or placed on high furniture like tables where baby can fall and hurt him/herself.

Always make sure to put the Sleepod on a sturdy surface free from pillows, blankets, stuffed animals and far from edges and other hazards.

Never put the Sleepod in a crib or stroller as this can increase the risk of suffocation.

Be aware that if a baby has or is about to learn how to roll over, sit up and or in other ways move him/her self can be in risk of suffocation as excessive movement/turning cause the Sleepod to shift in a manner that baby risks of getting underneath the Sleepod.

Babies that are learning to sit unsupported are at risk off falling over and could easily hurt themselves in the fall, always make sure to have a soft but sturdy surface, under the Sleepod while using it for lounging and supervised tummy time on the floor.

Cords and small parts are a suffocation hazard to small children, be aware that the cord and cord stopper could cause deadly suffocation if wrongly used and or ingested by a small child.

Sleepod is made to be used under supervision of an adult. Never leave a baby or small child unsupervised in the Sleepod.

How does Sleepod ship and what comes in the package?

Every Sleepod comes in a brown box made of recycled paper and ships with one of our lightweight and durable travel and storage bags. We refrain form using plastic and try to use as little packaging as possible. Please let us know immediately if any part of your shipment is damaged upon arrival by emailing to [email protected] please put DAMAGED GOODS in subject line.

Please make sure to recycle box and packaging to decrease the environmental impact.

How soon do you ship?

All orders ship within 5 business days (usually sooner) if nothing else is stated. We will send you a confirmation as soon as your order ships and you can use your tracking code to see exact delivery date at https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction_input

Do you allow returns?

Yes! If you're not happy with your recent purchase, you may return it within 10 days of the delivery date for a full refund, minus original shipping charges if any. Just email us to [email protected] please put RETURNS in subject line and we'll email you a return shipping label. All item(s) are subject to a $5 restock fee and must be returned in original condition with all tags, instructions and packaging intact. We do not accept merchandise returned with signs of wear, damage, wash, alteration or without manuals, storage bag and all original packaging. Any item(s) returned between 10 and 20 days after purchase will be automatically given a store credit that is redeemable on our site at any time. Your refund will be credited to the same card/payment method used to make the original purchase. Please allow up to 7 business days for your refund to show on your account. We’ll send you an email when our team has processed your refund so you know it’s on the way! * Sale items are final sale. Please note that we do not offer free returns outside continental US. We can create a label for you and subtract the shipping amount from amount refunded to your account.

Do you gift wrap?

Unfortunately, we don't have the ability to gift wrap at this time but we are more than willing to add a handwritten note with your greetings. Just add the text you want on card to the note section when checking out.

Do you charge sales tax?

We ship from Oregon, which means we charge no sales tax.

International shipping

All packages going to Alaska or Hawaii will be shipped flat rate ground shipping for $25 and will arrive within 6-10 business days. $35 flat rate ground Canada and Australia, please allow 7-16 days for your order to arrive. Note that we do not offer free returns outside continental US. Please contact us at [email protected] to get accurate shipping cost for your location as shipping rates varies widely depending on destination country and shipping priority. Please note that shipping cost does not include duties, taxes or customs clearance charges if any. Your local authorities might also require a local handling fee and will charge you separately if applicable. All international packages are shipped via USPS and will arrive in between 7-22 business days. Shipping time depends on local post service. Customs and clearing time is outside the control of Askr & Embla LLC or USPS.
